Kitten Delivery Cost Calculator

✨ Our Kitten Delivery Cost Calculator is Live!

It took us a loooong time to get this right (thank you for your patience!) and while we still plan to add the flight version, our delivery cost calculator is finally live!

This tool lets you plug in your location and see an estimate of delivery costs — including miles, time, gas, meals, hotels (if needed), and more.

You can see it and try it out on our new Getting Your Kitten page.

We've also added links for some reputable pet courier services for you to check out if you'd prefer.

A Few Important Notes About Delivery

Because of how a recent delivery went, we decided to make this post to share exactly what to expect on delivery days, so everyone is on the same page:

⏱ Timelines

We will always do our best to set a clear timeline and stick to it. We also allow time for food stops, bathroom breaks, and pad our schedule for traffic — but sometimes things still take longer than anticipated. Please keep in mind that delays can happen due to meals, rest breaks, traffic, construction, accidents on the road, or even simple human error. If something shifts, we’ll keep you updated.

👥 Who Travels

Whenever possible, we ask that new families also plan for at least two people to come for pickup. This allows one person to focus on driving while the other can comfort the kitten during the trip home. We’ve found this makes the journey easier on both kitten and humans, especially after a big day of travel and transition.

If this isn’t possible, please plan extra stops and keep the carrier close to the driver so your kitten doesn’t feel too isolated on the way home.

🤝 The Handoff

We don’t do rushed “parking lot handoffs.” Instead, we’ll invite you to sit with us in our vehicle for a little while so we can:

  • Go over your kitten’s starter kit and medical record.
  • Answer any questions you have.
  • Give your kitten a chance to hear your voices and movements in a familiar, safe space before you head home.

This small pause helps your kitten’s transition feel calmer and more secure.

👤 If Someone Else is Picking Up

If the new owner can’t be present and someone else is picking up, here’s what we require:

  • Owner signs the contract acknowledging that Spellbound is not responsible if the pickup person fails to deliver the kitten.
  • The pickup person must be willing to sit with us long enough to go over the basics and let the kitten get used to them.
  • We require contact information for the pickup person so we can provide updates during the trip.

✨ At the heart of all of this: we want every kitten’s journey to be safe, cared-for, and as smooth as possible. Transparency about timing and process helps us make that happen — and helps you feel confident when it’s time to meet your newest family member.

As always, if you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to reach out!
