Interested in Becoming a Guardian Home?

We’re so glad you found us! This is the first step in exploring whether being a guardian home for one of our Spellbound Siberian pairs might be a great fit for you.

From time to time, we look for very special homes to partner with us—places where one of our bonded breeding pairs (a queen and a king) can live full, happy lives as part of a family. You would raise and care for them as your own, following our care guidelines, and in return, you’d get the joy of kittens (without starting a full cattery), plus our full support.

🐾 What to Expect:

  • Our guardian cats normally produce kittens around three times per year
  • We provide:
    • food & litter for the kittens
    • extra food for pregnant/nursing queens
    • all breeding-related medical expenses
  • You receive $500 per kitten as a thank-you for raising them
  • At the end of the agreed-upon term (usually 4–5 years), we pay for spay/neuter and permanently transfer ownership to you at no additional cost

There are no wrong answers. This application just helps us understand your space, lifestyle, and level of experience so we can make the best match for both the cats and your household.

Is anyone in your home allergic to cats?

Do you currently have any pets?

Experience

Have you had cats before?
Do you have any experience with birthing or raising kittens, puppies, or other animal babies?
Are you willing to let Carole stay with you for a couple of days at birthing times until you have some experience?

Guardian Fit

Are you open to housing a male and female pair together?
Are you comfortable keeping cats strictly indoors? (Catio access is fine.)
Are you willing to allow allergy visits in your home? (you would be paid $50 for each)
Are you willing to allow owners to visit/pick up kittens from your home?
Are you financially able to pay for urgently needed supplies and submit receipts for reimbursement? ("No" is not a deal-breaker; we just want to be sure we are on the same page.)
Are you able to transport cats and kittens to the vet when needed?
Are you willing and able to deliver kittens to new owners if paid to do so? ("No" is not a deal-breaker, just trying to think of everything....)

Care & Communication

Are you able to clean litter boxes, weigh kittens, and give medication if needed?
Do you have an iPhone or Android?
Are you willing and able to send photo/video updates during pregnancies and kitten-raising?
Are you tech-savvy enough to create a shared iCloud and/or Google photo album and add photos and videos to it?
Are you willing to keep notes about kitten personalities to share with Carole and kitten families?
Are you open to home visits from Carole?
Do you have a vet you currently use or would you like us to help you find one?
Are you willing to switch vets if they won't do litter visits or use the vaccines we prefer?

Final Details

I understand this is a 3–5 year commitment with 3 litters per year, and that at the end of the term, the cats become mine permanently. Spay/neuter will be paid for by Spellbound if the full term is completed.
